I really thought that I was heartless and not a sappy sentimentalist, but I almost cried today when I took one of my all-time favorite t-shirts out of the boys’ rotation and into the trash. No wait! I’ll use it as a rag so it will still have some life and bring a smile to my face. Oh brother… As you can see, there are numerous stains, there’s a little paint at the bottom that you can’t see, and there’s a little hole in it. Don’t overlook the size. It’s a 4T, and my youngest is 6. It’s time for it to go. But it’s so cute!
Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
So apparently my oldest son wore the shirt but was never photographed in it. You’ll just have to trust me. He looked adorable in it.
Here’s son #2:
Aww… the shirt went apple picking with us… (eye roll is necessary…)
This is a terrible picture, but aww… it went to our favorite garden, Green Spring…
Nathan was wearing it on the big boys’ first day of school and the day before his 1st day of 1/2 day Kindergarten… Aww…
And the final picture on our tour of “Chicks Dig Me” is Nathan smiling after he conquered his fear of alligators eating him while he crossed the bridge at Tom Sawyer’s Island in Disney World. Aww…
There you have it, folks. I guess there are some things that I’m super sentimental about. And now that I’ve blogged about it, the shirt will not be forgotten. (Huge eye roll, please…)
No eyerolls here. I’m sentimental^10. RIP chick-digging shirt.
