The Third Day of Coronavirus Homeschooling

Today had some tears from my middle son about being corrected too much by his big brother (I understand both sides of that story) and some fussing about handwriting from my littlest son (he was just being lazy and tried to push the envelope, but I’ve been standing firm for 8 years with that kid) but we rallied and had another good day of school.

I haven’t told you much about the very beginning of our days.

After breakfast, the boys take Lizzie for a walk. Today they had enough time to take Lizzie on her favorite mile walk on the trail and past her boyfriend’s house.

Not the best picture, but we say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning to start our school day. We usually say it in the foyer. Maybe that’s why they’re not looking so thrilled…
I found out recently that my boys know NO patriotic songs, other than the Star Spangled Banner. WHAT??? I used to have my 4th Graders sing one verse of a patriotic song (and there are many to choose from) every morning. We’re singing verses 1 and 4 of “My Country Tis of Thee” everyday.

Not pictured, but we pray for our day. It is so sweet to pray with your kids. I love to hear them talking to their Heavenly Father.

Like I said, we had a good day of school, and they played for 4 hours outside in the afternoon.

Daniel just found out that he’ll be working from home for the next 2 weeks. Before he left, he asked me if I wanted him to stop off at Walmart to pick up anything. We really don’t need anything right now, but… He saw that I gave him the green light, and he went for it. I’ll just leave you with this picture, and you can imagine the rest…
